The given article is another one in a series of device reviews by vape-testing.com based on the opposition of technical characteristics claimed by the manufacturer to real ones.
Vape-testing Laboratory continues its research of the real devices technical parameters as contrasted to the ones indicated by the manufacturers. And this time our focus is the IDentity device, a new launch with an announced device puff capacity of 2100 puffs.
Unlike the two previous articles, concentrated on a more detailed device technical parameters testing methodology and revealing the real characteristics of the selected devices, the main goal of this article is to define how many puffs the IDentity device can ensure.
On the official IDentity website, the manufacturer claims the following device characteristics:
The correspondence of real puffs of the tested disposable e-cigarette to declared ones has become the point of our interest. Our team has selected 2 Mango Ice flavored devices, 20 mg/ml nicotine, with the heater resistance of 1.55 Ohm, further on marked as Sample No.1 and Sample No.2.
The IDentity disposable e-cigarette was tested on the HAVC machine. The tests were carried out according to the standard test methodology based on ISO 3308:2012 testing profile:
- puff duration – 2 sec.
- puff volume – 35 ml
- puff frequency – 1 puff/min.

According to the results of the Puff Count carried out for the two IDentity disposable e-cigarette samples tested according to ISO testing profile, the number of puffs made comprises 1200 puffs, against 2100 puffs claimed, which equals 57.1%.
If analyzing the results of the Puff Count test based on the globally accepted methodology of 1-second puff duration, the real puff capacity of the IDentity device amounts to 2400 puffs, which is 96% of the declared puff count.
Apparently, an average puff volume made by vapers is generally higher than that set during testing according to ISO standards. With this fact taken into consideration, the real number of puffs made with any device will depend on particular users and their own style of vaping.
Thus, one battery charge is enough to make a number of puffs in the range 265-325 according to ISO standard, which means the IDentity device is capable of active vapor generation when used by a vaper, for around 600 sec.
The battery capacity has shown an increase from the first to the fourth charging cycle. Correspondingly, the lesser number of puffs can be made at one battery charge with a large puff volume. It is noticeable that after making 1260 puffs, no damages to the components of the e-cigarettes have been detected except for darkening of the heater.
Hence, an independent research shows the relative reliability of the manufacturer, who makes the IDentity disposable e-cigarette a trustworthy product in the vaping market. To prove the point, we’ve made a comparison of the IDentity device with the devices we have tested before.
The previous research carried out by vape-testing.com revealed the real puff count according to ISO profile for more disposable devices. Making a contrast with the IDentity e-cigarette, we see the following:
Once again, by making such a research, our team in no way wants to discredit any of the manufacturing companies. As we mentioned earlier, the motivation for such a study is a simple curiosity and a desire to check how far the manufacturers’ declared indicators differ from the real ones.

The EMP (Evaporation Mass during a Puff) test is aimed at determining the amount of vaporized material during one puff. With the HAVC testing complex, the given test can be successfully used in the research process, while the machine is capable of connecting different types of devices: disposables, pod-systems, HnB, oil vaporizers, etc.
In case with the analyzed disposable, the EMP fluctuates between 3-5 mg. The EMP decrease is also observed when the e-cigarette has a poor charge and a lesser amount of liquid left. Moreover, after passing the margin of 700 puffs, the EMP tends to be reduced to less than 3 mg.
The EMP indicators also testify to a decrease in the vapor production measured by the optical sensor:
As the EMP generally depends on the battery charge and the depleted capacity of the device, a related decrease in EMP is observed. The EMPs of the two sample devices tested were reduced in 4.89g and 3.7g correspondingly after 1260 puffs had been made. And this argument is another positive feature with the IDentity device.
The puff strength generally varies between the two sample devices tested.
The strength of the puffs remained stable with the liquid consumption throughout the testing process, and it was confirmed by the organoleptic test held.
And yes, as one more extra, we`ve made an organoleptic test to substantiate the idea with the consumer feedback.
When making a Puff Count test, the e-cigarettes were weighed at the beginning of the test, as well as after every 10 puffs made. The devices were charged to a full battery after each discharge, and the testing proceeded.
Every 50-100 puffs were followed by the organoleptic test performed by one of the three experienced vapers.
An intense sugary-sweet aftertaste with a bright cooler accent was admitted by all the testers.
Based on the testers’ feedback, while performing the organoleptic test, the following was observed:
- No burnt taste
- Sweet flavor and aftertaste
- No throat hit
- Medium or low nicotine strength
- Medium vapor
- Easy puff remaining stable throughout the testing

We`ve gone even further suggesting carrying an organoleptic test with the IDentity device for non-expert vapers using e-cigarettes in daily life.
The testing team comprised 3 people, who were offered an extended table to register their feedback on the IDentity device and to mark their experience on the scale from 1 to 5.
The testing summary is as follows.
All independent testers agreed upon:
- The appearance of the device (visual and physical, holding the device in hand, shape of the mouthpiece) was rated 5
- Volume of vapor was rated 4
- Feeling of nicotine strength of 20mg/ml
- No coughing after using the device
- No false device activation identified
- No leakage of the device detected
- No changes in the aftertaste were observed during vaping
- No burning of the lips by vapor was observed
- No missed puffs were observed
- Throat hit effect was rated 1 (2 testers) and 3 (1 tester);
- Nicotine saturation was rated differently from 1 to 5;
- Vapor taste saturation was identified at ranks 3 (1 tester) and 5 (2 testers);
- Puff tightness was rated 3 (2 testers) and 4 (1 tester);
- Flavor correspondence was marked 2 (1 testers) and 5 (2 testers);
- The general impression on the device was ranked 4.

Based on the independent testers’ feedback, IDentity disposable e-cigarette will be of particular interest for those who enjoy sweet medium-nic vapor, with a tangible cooling effect.
Among the devices selected and so far tested by vape-testing.com according to ISO 3308:2000(E) using the HAVC complex, IDentity device demonstrates the highest real to declared puffs ratio – 57.1%.
All in all, the results of the device research held by the vape-testing.com team testify that the IDentity device holds the crown among the already tested devices, the real characteristics of which are less close to the claimed ones than that of IDentity disposable e-cigarette. If compared to other devices from the vape market analyzed, the technical parameters of the IDentity device, although partly deviated from the declared ones, generally correspond to the data provided by the manufacturer, approaching them more than competitor devices.
